SPREADING LAUGHTER THROUGH HUMOR FROM GRICEAN MAXIMS AND ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVES

Humor is essential in maintaining the balance of human life socially and psychologically. Each culture world, including Islamic culture, perceives humor differently. Furthermore, from an academic perspective, can be constructed using linguistic features. Therefore, this study aims to examine verbal construction linguistics features evaluate how perceived by different cultures, particularly popular British cultures. directed more toward liberal which often opposed seen as conservative. By employing a qualitative approach, investigates Black Books comedy series Gricean cooperative maxim theory Marzolph's concept perspectives on based Holy Qur’an Hadith. The results point out that utterances flout violate all four maxims, are quality (54.3%), quantity (14.3%), relevance (11.4%), manner (20%). This also found most appropriate humor, 60% do not contain ridicule, defamation, offensive name-calling, some other forbidden acts Islam such lies abusive behaviors. expected provide insights into cultures' humor.
